[시사뉴스 강영진 기자] 대구시는 2023년 두바이 치과기자재전시회(AEEDC 2023)에 ‘대구시 공동관’을 구축하고 지역 기업들의 참가 지원을 통해 총 961.7만 달러의 현지 계약 실적을 올렸다.

대구시는 ‘지역 의료기기 토탈마케팅 지원사업(대구테크노파크 주관)’을 통해 지난 2월 7일(화)부터 9일(목)까지 3일간 두바이에서 열린 ‘제27회 두바이 치과기자재전시회(AEEDC 2023)’에 공동관을 구축하고 지역 기업들의 참가를 지원해 총 988건, 2,918만여 달러 규모의 수출 상담 실적과 916.7만 달러의 수출 계약을 체결했다.

대구시가 지원한 이번 전시회에는 △㈜메디피아 △씨에스엠 임플란트 △㈜레피오 △이프로스 △㈜가보우츠 △㈜써지덴트 △㈜원데이바이오텍△덴스타㈜ △코리덴트 △㈜예스바이오테크 △㈜신일덴텍 △㈜나노레이 △㈜하이니스 등 지역 치과의료기기 관련 13개사가 참여했다.

아랍에미리트 두바이 치과기자재전시회는 1996년 최초 개최돼 올해로 27회째 열리는 중동 최대 규모이자 세계에서 두 번째로 큰 치과의료기기 전시회로, 이번 전시회는 약 53,217sqm의 면적, 카테고리별 8개의 전시홀에 60개 국가에서 3,600개 기업이 참가했고, 전시회 기간 중 155개국 66,071명 참관객이 방문했다. 국내에서는 대구지역 13개사를 포함해 137개사가 참가해 중동, 아프리카 및 유럽 치과의료기기 시장 공략을 위한 다양한 활동을 벌였다.

한국은 이번 전시회에서 주빈국(GUEST OF HONOUR)으로 선정돼 한국기업에 관심이 집중됐으며, 문병준 주 두바이 총영사가 대구공동관을 방문해 수출 확대를 위해 노력하는 지역 치과의료기기 참가기업을 격려했다.

참가기업 중 하나인 ㈜원데이바이오텍은 치과용 임플란트 제품을 전문으로 생산하는 업체로 지속적인 전시회 참가를 통해 해외 바이어들로부터 한 차원 높은 수준의 기술력을 지녔다는 평가를 받았다.

또한 파키스탄, 스페인 기업으로부터 세미나 개최 및 2백만 달러의 딜러십 계약을 논의했으며, 독일 임플란트를 8,000개/연 판매하는 사우디아라비아의 한 기업으로부터 자사 임플란트로 교체 요청을 받는 등 약 45만 달러의 계약을 상담했다.

한편 대구시 프리스타기업인 ㈜써지덴트는 이란 기업과 고정용 나사장치(GBR 스크류) 등의 공급 요청을 받았고 임플란트 가이드 시스템 키트 제작 의뢰 등 연간 20만여 달러 규모의 독점 계약을 맺었으며, ㈜나노레이는 파키스탄, 사우디아라비아, 이탈리아 기업 등과 Portable X-ray의 총 89만 달러 규모의 수출 계약을 맺었다.

이외에도 참가기업들은 활발한 상담을 통해 크고 작은 계약 체결과 함께 글로벌 바이어로부터 우수한 기술력에 대한 긍정적인 평가를 받았으며 향후 수출시장 다변화를 위한 전망을 밝게 했다.

이승대 대구시 혁신성장실장은 “이번 두바이 치과기자재전시회의 성과를 통해 지역 치과의료기기의 우수성을 확인할 수 있었으며, 지역 치과의료기기 기업의 유럽 미국 등 선진시장뿐만 아니라 중동 및 아프리카 등 신흥시장 진출 지원에도 지속적인 관심을 가지겠다”라고 말했다.

대구시는 이번 두바이 치과기자재전시회에 이어 독일 쾰른 국제치과기자재전시회(3월)에도 공동관을 구축해 지역 치과의료기기 기업의 해외 판로개척을 위한 마케팅 지원을 아끼지 않을 예정이다.

Through the 'Regional Medical Device Total Marketing Support Project (organized by Daegu Techno Park),' Daegu City built a joint pavilion at the '27th Dubai Dental Equipment Exhibition (AEEDC 2023)' held in Dubai for three days from February 7 (Tuesday) to 9 (Thursday), and supported the participation of local companies, signing a total of 988 export consultations worth more than $29.18 million and export contracts worth $916.7 million.

The exhibition, which was supported by Daegu City, was attended by 13 local dental device companies, including Mediphia, CSM Implants, Lepio, Cyprus, Gabautz, SurgeDent, OneDay Biotech, Denstar, Corident, Yes Biotech, Shinil Dentech, Nanorey, and Hynis.

The Dubai Dental Equipment Exhibition in the United Arab Emirates, first held in 1996 and now in its 27th year, is the largest dental equipment exhibition in the Middle East and the second largest in the world. 3,600 companies from 60 countries participated in 8 exhibition halls with an area of about 53,217 square meters, and 66,071 visitors from 155 countries visited during the exhibition. In Korea, 137 companies, including 13 from Daegu, participated in the exhibition and conducted various activities to target the dental equipment market in the Middle East, Africa and Europe.

Korea was selected as the GUEST OF HONOR at the exhibition, drawing attention to Korean companies, and the Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Dubai, Moon Byung-joon, visited the Daegu Joint Pavilion to encourage local dental device exhibitors in their efforts to expand exports.

One of the participating companies, OneDay Biotech, specializes in dental implant products and has been evaluated by overseas buyers as having a higher level of technology through continuous participation in exhibitions.

In addition, the company held seminars and discussed a dealership contract worth $2 million with companies from Pakistan and Spain, and received a request from a Saudi Arabian company that sells 8,000 German implants per year to replace them with its own implants, resulting in a contract worth about $450,000.

Ltd. received a request from an Iranian company to supply fixing screws (GBR screws) and signed an exclusive contract worth more than $200,000 per year for the production of implant guide system kits, and Nanorey signed export contracts with companies in Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Italy totaling $890,000 for its portable X-ray.

In addition to signing large and small contracts through active consultations, the participating companies received positive evaluations from global buyers for their excellent technology and brightened their prospects for diversifying export markets in the future.

"Through the results of the Dubai Dental Equipment Exhibition, we were able to confirm the excellence of local dental devices, and we will continue to show interest in supporting local dental device companies to enter not only developed markets such as Europe and the United States, but also emerging markets such as the Middle East and Africa," said Lee Seung-dae, head of the Innovation and Growth Office of Daegu City.

Following the Dubai Dental Equipment Exhibition, Daegu City will also build a joint pavilion at the International Dental Equipment Exhibition in Cologne, Germany (March) to provide marketing support for local dental equipment companies to develop overseas sales.
